Alice in Wonderland-Movie review

On Sunday, I went with my dad to see "Alice in wonderland" and I have to say it was very good. I really enjoyed it, the acting was phenomenal and it looked amazing, but still, there was something missing.

If you are familiar with the books, you'd immediately realise that this is not "Alice in Wonderland", but "Through the Looking-Glass", which is the sequel, sort-of. Alice is 20 and everyone expects of her to get married, so she runs from the place where an awful chap was publicly proposing to her, following the rabbit in the waistcoat.

The best part, I must say, were the characters. Fantastic protrayals by the actors. Johnny Depp was...the Mad Hatter, I mean, he was so good I couldn't even tell it was him. Helena Bonham Carter, who plays the Queen of hearts, is, as always, brilliant. I always enjoy watching her embody her characters because she does it so vividly. Another character I loved was the Cheshire Cat, who I could watch floating around for hours. Anne Hathaway as the White Queen was...okay, I mean, it wasn't as outstanding as the others, but it was a good performance nonetheless.

The artistic part of the movie and its 3D effects are, of course, perfect. It looks very believable, enchated, exactly as it should be.

However, as I mentioned before, something was missing. Maybe I didn't really get into the story and cared about it as much as I was expecting, The Mad Hatter being the only character I was feeling sorry for. Maybe it was just me.

The message of the movie was quite obvious for me, at least, and it stuck with me for a long te after I saw it (even now). It's all about being yourself, being brave and taking your life in your own hands.

In the end, I loved it! It's really worth going and seeing it because it's a wonderful experience that you mustn't miss.
